The former Uvalde mayor suggests the shooting legislation for school shots

MP Don McLaughlin, the mayor of Uvalde, when a shooter broke through the city's peace and killed 19 children and two teachers at a primary school, submitted a legislative submission to solve some of the failures that were plagued by the police's reaction.

Texas already requires that individual officials complete training for active shooters, but does not require annual exercises for law enforcement authorities. The invoice would also offer grants for the officials to train for an active rifle incident.

McLaughhlin's legislation would also require that the Ministry of Public Security conclude mutual help contracts with local law enforcement authorities that determine how the agencies would share resources during a critical incident and how the answer is to be coordinated. McLaughlin blew DPS after the shot of Uvalde because he had not taken control of the shooting event, with which the federal government, state and local police rose in the incident to a local head of school who was without radio.

During a critical event, police officers would have to prove courses to set up an Incident Command Center under the calculation.

For the legislation, police and emergency services providers who react to an active shooter event would submit a report in which the event is described how many employees reacted, how many deaths have occurred and that problems occurred during the response. The provisional report would be due at the latest 60 days after an incident.

As mayor, McLaughlin criticized the reaction of the law enforcement authorities to the Uvalde shooting and what he saw as a disguise by the police and state officials. The requirement of a preliminary report should give public faster insights into mass events, which frustrated both frustrated officials in Uvalde and the families of victims.

The legislation is one of the priority invoices by the house speaker Dustin Burrows, an indication that it has a high probability to overtake the chamber.
