The former Washington National Slugger is surprisingly published by Chicago White Sox

This winter, the Washington Nationals wanted to improve the first basis.

Last season they converted the Outfield Joey Gallo to play this role, which achieved some positive results in the field, whereby his defensive Bwar 0.2 and his outs were worth an increase in a ruins per baseball savant.

But it was the crime that was not good enough for the racket.

With the Minnesota twins, in which he was an OPS+ for the first time since his all-star campaign in 2021, which was at least the league average of 100, the production of Minnesota fell, where he was for the first time since his all-star campaign.

When he was on the field instead of the injured list, he lowered .277/.336/.613 and had an OPS+ of 74 with 10 Homern and 27 RBI in its 76 games and 260 record appearances.

Since he had only signed a one -year pact before the 2024 campaign, it was a simple decision for Washington to put him on the open market and initially look for an upgrade elsewhere, which they achieved by purchasing Nathaniel Lowe in a trade with the Texas Rangers.

It took a while, but Gallo apparently found a home with a new team, Chicago White Sox when he signed a minor League contract with them late February.

But this marriage is over now.

According to Scott Merkin from MLB.com, the White Sox published the former Nationals Slugger after he asked for his unconditional publication and allowed him to look for another club for another opportunity.

It is unclear why Gallo wanted to come back to the open market.

Perhaps he would not create the opening day and thought there would be a better opportunity for him to stay with a Major League team.

In any case, Gallo is now a free agent in this low season and is looking for his next home.
