The gas company has no “significant knowledge” by Gene Hackman Home: Sheriff

On Tuesday, the local authorities said that in the inspection of the residence of the late Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa there was no significant knowledge of gas leaks or carbon monoxide in the inspection of the residence of the late Oscar winner.

Santa Fe County's Sheriff's Office said that the New Mexico Gas Company had “confirmed that in the early evening of February 26th it was carried out by a comprehensive examination for gas leaks and carbon monoxide of the house – the day on which the couples and one of its dogs were discovered in the property.

“There were no significant results,” said the office.

However, the gas company apparently found that there was a “tiny leak” of 0.33% gas in the air in one of the oven burners – which the office described as a non -fatal amount. The company also identified some violations of the enforcement of code that “no gas leaks or carbon monoxide” were included in a hot water processor and gas protocol installed in three fireplaces.

“It is not assumed that these results are a factor for the death of Gene Hackman, Betsy Arakawa or her dog, although the information for examination was forwarded to the medical investigator's office,” added the Sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office has announced that it will be updated in a press conference on Friday.

The police said Hackman, Arakawa and their pet were found dead by investigators last week after a maintenance worker had been obtained and described the security in the neighborhood, which then alerted on 911.

From the beginning, the authorities said that the foul was not a factor for the deaths, but a detective in the Sheriff office found that “the circumstances in connection with the death of the two deceased people in nature are suspicious enough to request a thorough search and examination in an affidavit adherence order submitted last week.

The sheriff of Santa Fe County, Adan Mendoza, said on Friday that both Hackman and Arakawa were “tested negatively for carbon monoxide”.

Mendoza previously said that early signs were that Hackman and his wife “had died for a while” when the investigators found their bodies.

The authorities still have to name their exact cause of death; Official autopsi and toxicologists are pending.
