The Greenwood Lake fire brigade offers Skoufis with 50,000 US dollar scholarship

Greenwood Lakee a scholarship for $ 50,000 for $ 50,000 is financed by the Senator James Skoufis (D, Cornwall) of the state of Greenwood Lake Fire Department in order to acquire a UTV support, a cutting unit and forestry armor.

Skoufis and the fire brigade of Greenwood Lake identified these equipment needs according to the Jennings Creek/Sterling Forest State Park last November, which was burned for two weeks.

“When the Sterling Forest Fire broke out last autumn, so many people reacted to help, but it was the fire brigade of Greenwood Lake, who first left, last left, and successfully fought a fire that threatened her church,” said Skoufis. “As we counted on you last autumn, I am proud that in return you can count on me – I am pleased to secure this financing for your department. When Orange County needed the most, the fire brigade from Greenwood Lake acted quickly and efficiently, and this financing enables new devices to continue to do exactly that. I know that I speak for the entire Orange County when I thank this brave volunteer again. “

The Jennings Creek Waldfeuer burned more than 5,300 in New York and New Jersey. More than 500,000 gallons water were unloaded onto the fire and over 1,300 firefighters were sent by 427 fire brigade companies to help combat the fire with the crews to Montana and Colorado.

As part of the answer, Orange County used emergency resources and the governor sent additional state assets, including the army personnel and national guards, Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters as well as helicopters from the state police.
