The Hong Kong tourism director promises to bring football to Kai Tak Sports Park overseas

Hong Kong's sports and tourism director has undertaken to bring football teams from overseas to play in the newly opened KAI TAK Sports Park, and revealed that more than 200 production units were addressed to hold events in the stadium with 50,000 seats.

The secretary for cultural, sports and tourism-rosanna Law Shuk-Pui said on Tuesday that details about some events were still confirmed and would be announced later.

According to Law, the new venue would also hold a variety of sporting events in addition to concerts and she hoped to attract football teams in overseas to play.

“I'm a football fan myself … I will definitely work hard to bring some teams to Hong Kong,” said Law to a radio program. “A healthy competition in the Asian-Pacific region is a good thing. I am very confident that our Kai Tak Sports Park will be popular. “

The park organized a dazzling opening ceremony in the main stadium on Saturday. The authorities hoped that the event location in the amount of 30 billion HK (3.9 billion US dollars) would mark the beginning of a new era for mega events, concerts and roast sports in Hong Kong.

The Singapore singer-songwriter JJ Lin joined the stars this year in the line-up of the stars, which is to appear at the venue on May 24th and 25th. Others count the British rock band Coldplay, the Cantopop star Nicholas Tse Ting and the Taiwan superstar Jay Chou.
