The Idaho population grows in 44 counties, census data show trends | Spokane news

Idaho – The Idaho Ministry of Labor announced that more than 40 counties in the state have recorded population growth.

The department reported that 44 districts have a population increase of 1.5%more than 30,497 new residents between July 2023 and July 2024. The counties with higher population groups recorded greater growth than rural areas, which was reflected in a nationwide trend of the subway areas that swinging back after cowid-199 pandemy.

During pandemic, Idaho's population growth was more even between rural and urban counties. Last year, the ten most populous counties in the state contributed 26,076 new residents – an increase of 30% compared to the previous year.

Among these counties, only NEZ Perce recorded a slowdown of growth compared to 2023. Kootai County now grew by 1.7%.

Together, the most populous counties made 86% of Idaho's total population growth in 2024, compared to 74.6% in 2023.
