The impartial group publishes final knowledge of Montana 2024 Parliamentary elections

The Montana election observation initiative published its complete findings on elections in the state.

The group observed the election process in Montana to determine whether it was carried out pretty, transparently and with democratic integrity.

They published their final considerations in February. It is a long document that examines every step of the process. It reveals that Montana held a well -organized and transparent election process.

The Carter Center sponsored the Montana election observation initiative. To increase a effort, trust and transparency in elections. The impartial citizens' effort monitored the fair and precise coordination in 16 counties in the entire state. According to the Carter Center, she initially piled up the observation in Missoula County's primaries in June 2024. It was expanded from there. More than 150 observers went to 76 voice locations and took knowledge of what they saw.

“Your observations were invaluable for how the picture of what the overall choice was really looked like,” said Daniel Bruce, the Mteoi coordinator

Some of the strengths include the voter turnout of the voters and consequences of the custody chain for ballot papers, a sign of the official integrity of the choice.

There is still room for improvements, observers found long waiting times, and a high turnout saw a bottleneck of voters in line. Recommendations that are concerned that need better planning and assignment of staff and materials. Another hint was the improvement of voter training in the future.

The 2024 election was the first time that the organization supervised elections in Montana. Bruce said they hope that they will stay with it. Potential observation of the local elections this year. He always hopes that they can return for snacks in 2026.

“Feedback that we received from various stakeholders in this process – from polled officers to political decision -makers to citizens to media members, that this is worth,” said Bruce. “We would like to continue to play a role and continue to involve communities and citizens in the process.

The work does not end here, Mteoi hopes to exchange information and tips between the various district elections. To maintain the volunteers who recruited them in 2024.

The organization's plan to improve the elections in the future? Voter training.

“We see education as an important instrument to prepare it and improve the experience on election day to avoid building people who have to register at the last minute,” said Bruce.
