The investigation of the death of Gene Hackman, the woman continues in New Mexico

The authorities continue their investigation of the circumstances in connection with the death of the actor Gene Hackman (95) and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64, a classic pianist. The couple was found dead on Wednesday in their house in the southwestern US state of New Mexico.

“I am pretty confident that there is no foul,” said the sheriff of Santa Fe County, Adan Mendoza Today's show. He said the autopsy results “will steer us in the right direction” to determine what happened to Hackman and his wife.

Without the autopsy, said the sheriff, it was difficult to find out how long the couple had been dead.

In an affidavit of the search order on Thursday, the circumstances in connection with the couple's deaths were “suspicious enough to request a thorough search and examination”.

Mendoza told Today's show That several doors were unlocked around the house and a door in the back of the house was open. Earlier reports said that the front door was open.

Hackman's body was found near the house while his wife's body was found in a bathroom. The dead dog's body was found in a dog crate, not far from Arakawa's body. The couple had three German shepherds. The other two dogs were found lively and healthy on the property.

The affidavit for the search command also showed that the police called the Santa Fe fire brigade and the New Mexico Gas Company on Hackman's place of residence, but no toxic vapors or leather -soluble pipes were found on the reasons.
