The Japanese television presenter Monta Mino, Guinness World Record owner, dies at 80

Japanese TV Personality and Guinness World Records certificate holder of the busiest live TV presenter Monta Mino died early Saturday, a company that he led as president. He was 80.

Mino, a native of Tokyo, whose real name Norio was Minorikawa, did the radio station Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Inc. go to the radio station in 1967, before switching to television, where he appeared in numerous programs, including as a moderator of the Japanese version of “Who wants to become a millionaire”?

In 2006 he received the Guinness certificate for most hours on live television in a week for his regular appearances in two programs. He broke his own record in 2008 when one of the shows reorganized and its term was expanded.

Mino was also President of Nikkoku Corp., a family company that produces water meters.
