The judge weighs the law of Florida to keep children away from social media – NBC 6 Südflorida

A US district judge held a hearing for an application by social media industrial groups because of an injunction against a new law in Florida to keep children away.

The law was one of the highest questions of the legislative period in 2024, in which the legislator harms addictive social media platforms.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association and the NetchOICE, whose members include tech giants such as Google and Meta platforms, have submitted the challenge that the law violates the rights of first change and that parents should make decisions about the use of children's social media.

“This statute aims specifically and deliberately on the content that young people like, and that is not permitted according to the constitution.”
The law should come into force on January 1.

The former Attorney General Ashley Moody agreed to delay the enforcement in November until the chief judge of the US district, Mark Walker, ruled for the application for an injunction.

The law sometimes strives to prevent children under the age of 16 to open up social media accounts on certain platforms-or to give parents to 14- and 15-year-olds to have their approval in order to have accounts.

Children under the age of 14 could not open any accounts.
