The LECKS were real – starter confirmed for Pokémon Legends ZA and potential ranking list mode

After a full year full of silence, Pokémon Legends received a new trailer with many invisible content, including a completely new combat system and an actual gameplay in Lumiose City.

From the Mega development to the introduction of the struggle, which is reminiscent of Action -RPGs, mixed with the classic Pokémon formula, legends: ZA takes Pokémon in a completely new direction, even compared to its predecessor.

While we did not get a publication date, Pokémon Legends: ZA will be published at the end of 2025 – probably at November. In addition, the focus of the Pokémon Day trailer was to give players a look at the gameplay for the combat system, which is completely different from Legends: Arceus.

Gone are the strong and agile style options; In your place there is a better action-RPG form of the fight, in which you take over a more direct control over your Pokémon during positioning for the Pokémon and your player character. With this positioning you can set up traps on the field, dodge incoming attacks and more.

The Mega Evolution was also revised for this system. Instead of being a static buff, it seems that a Pokémon can only be further developed for a defined time of the mega before it is normalized again and loses its improved forces.

It was also known that Chikorita, Tepig and Totodiles are the starter they will choose for legends: ZA. This probably means that you either receive alternative third parties such as Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott in Legends: Arceus or get mega volutions because this mechanic celebrates a big comeback. Maybe it will be both, but we will only know how to publish it.

Together with the starters and the new combat system, we can now assume legends: ZA is a kind of continuation of Pokémon X and Y, since AZ and its floette operate a hotel that seems to serve as an operation base. The rest of the characters look new and revolves around Lumiose City's urban development plan and Quasartico.

And despite the strange, as it sounded strange when the game was originally unveiled, it actually seems that most legends: ZA will take place in Lumiose City alone. There are various “wild zones” in the city where wild Pokémon is located and they can fight and catch them.

Capture mechanics seem to be a slightly revised version of legends: Arceus', in which you can throw Poké balls outside of the fight. The movement outside of battles also seems different. A trailer shows how the player character jumps from a roof to roof with the help of a rotom phone.

And as if it weren't clear enough from the trailer and the general theming, Zygarde becomes an important role in the history of Legends: ZA.

We still have no complete understanding of how Pokémon legends: ZA may be able to influence the competition Pokémon scene, mainly because of the strange legends: Arceus fit the equation in 2022.

While Legends: ZA new Pokémon will introduce completely unique species, new developments and new mega volutions, it is not clear how the game itself acts as an online unit. Legends: Arceus did not have an element of the online fight and instead concentrated to be a single player experience, while they still enabled the players to act with each other or to use things like the retrieving of Lost Satchels from players who were expelled in the surviving.

It took more than a year for Pokémon to be used in Legends: Arceus in competitive battles by scarlet fever and violet. Due to legends, VGC competitions continued to use swords and signs for an additional year: Arceus a lack of online modes.

Fortunately, the Pokémon Company also announced Pokémon Champions, a new, shadow -oriented game that is currently being developed for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. It will focus on making players fighting online with Pokémon from their Pokémon Home collection, in which Legends: ZA may not contain this function.

In addition, the introduction of champions in combination with Legends ZAS could be more robust real-time combat system an interesting future for Pokemon eSPORTS. It is quite possible that the standard, rein-based VGC format will continue to live in champions, while Legends introduces ZA an online ranking list mode and the series brings the series into a more real fighter competition in real time.
