The legendary Italian football commentator Bruno Pizzul dies at 86

TV commentator Bruno Pizzul, the legendary voice of Italian football, died on Wednesday at the age of 86.

Pizzul was born in Udine in 1938 and initially followed a career as a professional footballer and played in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a midfielder for clubs such as Pro -Gorizia, Catania, Ischia and Cremonse.

After Pizzul had a degree in law, he switched to journalism in 1969 and came to Rai, Italy's National Public Broadcasting Company, switched as a sports commentator with the Coppa Italia -match between Juventus and Bologna in the same year.
