The Lynchburg police examine the death of newborns

Lynchburg, va. (WDBJ) – The police examined the death of a newborn child in Lynchburg.

On Thursday, a young woman came to the Lynchburg General Hospital to seek medical help. The girl had recently born in a house, said the police.

The officials received an arrest warrant to search for the house in the 00 block of the Federal St. and finally found the deceased newborn.

The child's cause of death has not yet been determined.

As part of their investigation, the police arrested and accused the 38 -year -old Malike Kevin Stewart from Lynchburg due to ban against the covering up of a body and possession of ammunition by a convicted criminal.

According to the LPD, it works with the medical examiner, the social services and the Lynchburg Commonwealth law firm in the next steps.
