The man, who was acquitted by Shooting Ex

For the second time in less than three weeks, a man in South Florida was not found guilty due to domestic violence.

The 55-year-old Gayle Blount was acquitted on Wednesday by a jury of the Broward County because of the indictment that he had pushed his ex-girlfriend Bridget Knighton into a table in a restaurant in 2021. Last month, a jury in Miami did not think he was guilty after shot his knight five times and claimed self -evidence.

“I can't even say I'm shocked,” said Knighton.

Blount was not found to be guilty after the police joined the Knighton into a table in a restaurant in February 2021.

“I'm afraid for my life. That didn't change,” said Knighton.

Blount -listed cell phone video of the incident and showed how Knighton stood over him when they argued for about eight or nine minutes. Then he gets up and pushes it into a table.

“We showed it to the jury – after hearing what she said, they decided to clear him,” said Blount's lawyer Jonathan Jordan.

This is the second time that Blount was not found guilty in less than a month due to domestic violence.

On February 14, Blount was acquitted for attempted murder and claimed self -defense after shot Knighton five times in May 2021. Blount told the jury that he was that she would reach for a weapon.

Blount has been in prison for four years and is released with the acquittal on Wednesday and able to return home.

“He spent four years in custody and fought for two different cases in two different counties and it took so long to prove his innocence,” said Jordan. “The next step is freedom for him.”

The freedom that Knighton says can be felt unsafe because she claims that she has been misused several times throughout the relationship.

Despite the second acquittal, she will not stop pursuing justice.

“I will be relentless in my pursuit of justice. It's not over yet. It's not over yet,” she said.

Blount is expected to be released early Thursday morning.
