The map of Florida shows that districts are now exposed to the risk of a “critical” fire weather

Dozens of counties in Central and South Florida were aware of the fire weather conditions on Thursday, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warned that a combination of strong winds and low relative humidity could contribute to extreme fire behavior in the Sunshine state.

Why is it important

The NWS is issued a red flag warning to inform local firefighters about potentially dangerous weather conditions that are expected within the next 12 to 24 hours. Forest fires met California and Carolinas this year.

Winds were expected at almost 20 miles per hour, which, according to NWS, are based on around 30 miles per hour and relative humidity between 25 and 35 percent.

“All fires that develop will probably spread quickly,” warned it.

In the meantime there were fire weather watches in Südflorida.

This included the counties Broward, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach.

Here the service said that the drought conditions in combination with low relative humidity values ​​would lead to “increased fire weather problem”.

The residents of the affected areas were asked to burn outdoors.

The NWS problems with fire weather up to 72 hours before the conditions should occur, while a red flag warning is “output if the conditions should occur within the next 24 hours”.
