The Mayor of Harrisburg announces plans for the ice and fire festival

Mayor Wanda Williams announced that 68 ice sculptures will take over Harrisburg on Saturday.

Harrisburg, Pa. – Mayor Wanda Williams announced plans for Harrisburg's eight annual ice and fire festival on Monday.

68 sculptures take over Harrisburg on Saturday, which consists of more than 20 tons of ice cream.

Several additional activities are planned, including an “Iceless” skating railway, a ward of Braten-Your-Smores and much more.

“This festival is proof of our creativity, resilience and community spirit towards the city's inhabitants,” said Mayor Williams. “I encourage everyone to get out, explore the dazzling ice sculptures, enjoy the entertainment and experience the magic of winter.”

Free and reduced parking facilities are available for the event, including free parking spaces on City Island and in the Reservoir Park.

The Ice and Fire Festival will take place this Saturday, March 1st, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
