The most recent alleged case of San Antonio Dog Presency shares similarities to the virus incident in January

SAN ANTONIO – A suspected case of dog abuse that led to an arrest this week seems to have some similarities to another case that was held in front of the camera at the beginning of this year.

Dartauian Renson, 25, is accused of defeating a dog on an apartment complex. Renson was arrested early Wednesday morning for an indictment against cruelty to animals.

In a similar case, the 23-year-old Havana Miller was also arrested for cruelty to animals after being recorded in a viral video in January and a 3-month-old poodle met several times on an apartment balcony in the west side.

The 25-year-old Dartauian Renson was charged with killing, poison or serious assault for killing, poison or serious assault. (Office of the Sheriff of the Bexar district)

Renson is accused of having bound a dog on an apartment balcony to a railing and beating it, according to the San Antonio Police Department and Animal Care Services.

In a report it says that the police answered a call from a neighbor in the apartment complex around 3 a.m. near West Woodlawn Avenue and the Grant Avenue.

The report says that the neighbor claims to wake up on a dog and then see how Renson does the animal.

The officials found the dog, which was still bound to the railing, by a cord that was wrapped around the neck and body, the report says.

The report also states that the pet was so firmly bound that the dog could not move.

A cord that was now cut into two parts kept the dog so firmly on the railing that, according to the police, it could not move. (Copyright 2024 from KSAT – all rights reserved.)

“Almost every resident has pets, dogs and cats,” said another neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous. “Well, yes, it's very worrying.”

The neighbor said Ksat that they also noticed the excitement when the police arrived in the apartment.

“A few hours later, when Dawn came over, I went up there and saw that there was a chaos up there and had gone a little further with the dog,” said the neighbor.

The neighbor said they had learned the details about what happened at some point later.

According to the police report, Renson told the official that the dog bitten him and he bound the dog to prevent him from biting anyone in his house.

On Friday morning, the cord – now cut two pieces into two pieces – littered the balcony together with a bowl with non -eaten dog food.

A note was also glued to Renson's apartment door, which shows that ACS had taken custody of the American Staffordshire Mix Dog.

ACS said Renson was not the dog's owner, but belongs to his roommate.
