The Murder process of the USM soccer player moved in June

Hattiesburg, Miss. (WDAM) – Orlando May was brought to the court this month

But on Tuesday before the Forrest County Circuit Court, the public defender of May, John Helmert, submitted an application to postpone the original negotiation date.

The application was granted and the process of May is now set for June 17th.

May was charged with a capital murder and is on life without probation.

The teenager was also charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, take possession of a motor vehicle and own a stolen firearm.

The three co -accused of May, all Marcus Gardner, Samir Green and Nytavion Shaw, have already been guilty.

Helmert also submitted an application on Tuesday to withdraw from the case.

Helmert, who was appointed Mai's public defender in November 2024, argued a conflict of interest in his application for repayment.

According to court documents, Helmert said that he had the feeling that the defenders of Forrest County could not represent the co -accused.

Ultimately, a judge decided that there was no conflict and Helmert will remain in the case of May.
