The National Park Service sets up a record record in the middle of historical personnel cuts

The National Park Service reported a record value of 331,863,358 in 2024, which recently reduced reduction in the National Park Service workforce by 9%. The previous record was set up in 2016 with 330,971,689 recovery visits. The National Park Conservation Association said that this robust tour contradicts the continued reduction of the American Park heir.

In addition to the removal of 1,000 test tensioners, freezing free permanent positions and the delay in the hiring of seasonal employees, the administration also has the cancellation of 34 Park Service Building Leasing, the visitor centers, law enforcement authorities, museums and hubs for critical programs, including the Lawdement Faculty for the Laws Missions in Downtown and San Antonio, cancellations.

9 visitor centers and visitor contact stations are intended for leasing cancellations, including:

  • Morris Thompson Visitor Center, Fairbanks, Alaska, Darkle St.
  • Little River Canyon Center, Alabama, Alabama Hwy
  • Southern Arizona Office, Arizona, N Central Ave.
  • New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park Visitor Center, Louisiana, N Peters St.
  • Mississippi National River, Minnesota, Kellogg BLVD
  • Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center, Nebraska, W Highway 20
  • Salinas Pueblo missions, New Mexico, Ripley Ave.
  • Missouri National Recreation River Visitor Center, South Dakota, 508 East 2nd Street
  • Klondike Goldrausch, Washington, 2nd Ave S

Before the employees have been shortened and returned in the past few weeks, the National Park Service fought for years of inadequate funds due to the congress with increasing visit and shrinking budgets.

“The National Park Service just reported on the highest visit to its history, since the administration conducts massive shots and threatens the visitor centers and public safety facilities. It is a slap in the face of the hundreds of millions of people who explored our parks last year and want to go back. Americans love their national parks; These cuts do not support public support, ”said Kristen Brengel, Senior Vice President for government matters of the National Park Conservation Association.

“With the peak side season, park visitors with closed visitor centers and campsites, canceled Ranger programs and fewer search and rescue employees have to fight. If the construction of rental contracts is canceled, this will make these problems worse.

“Our national parks are beloved and famous places where jobs are also manufactured in America and serve as the striking, flourishing heart of the local and nationwide tourism economies. Each dollar invested in our national parks offers at least $ 15 dollars invested. Devastating mass shots in addition to custody in free positions, the delay in the cessation of the seasonal staff and the resignation of hundreds of parking employees. Together, this threatens to set this striking heart for life preservation, ”said Brengel.
