The new checkpoint of the International Airport Tampa is open in good time to get a record -breaking spring break

Tampa's international airport predicts a record -breaking spring holidays, with 3.3 million passengers being expected to be expected by April 6th.

A current addition could help the flow of traffic.

This week, the airport opened a new security demonstration in Airside E. It extends over 20,000 square meters and offers passengers a larger queue area and an additional seventh safety trail.

The checkpoint is located by a new passage in the southeastern corner of the Airside E -shuttle lobby.

Spokesman Emily Nipps said this new area should create better experience for travelers during the spring holidays and beyond.

“Airside E is one of these pain points that would often be so overcrowded that we actually have to slow down the lines outside the shuttles in the main terminal to ensure that we came to people with measurements,” said Nipps.

“We are no longer worried about it.”

Nipps said they had built high ceilings on this air path to feel less crowded. She said there are also new technologies that make it easier to go through the checkpoints, including the possibility of keeping your electronics in your suitcase.

They also update the security control point in Airside A. She said that both Air -Side's improvements needed because they were designed and built before the traffic safety authority was founded and opened in 2002.

Although these improvements should help, Nipps said that it is still important to get to the airport two to three hours before your flight – especially in the next few weeks.

“During the spring holidays you will see longer lines. You will only see a few slowdowns that you are not used to, regardless of whether it is the Sky Connect train or coffee,” said Nipps.

“It's just so much easier if you come here early. So we recommend that you come here earlier than you are used to.”

Further tips are the booking of your parking lot online and the use of the Uber Eats app to buy food in advance.

According to Nipps, the spring holidays from March to mid -April will be identified as a time of five to six weeks, which civil servants regard the “Super Bowl of the Airport”.

The figures are carrying this out – so far they have never exceeded 100,000 passengers in one day. Nipps said they expect this number to exceed at least four times during the spring holidays.

March 15 is expected to be more than 101,000 passengers of TPAS most busy day, followed by March 29, March 22 and March 16.

Nipps has one last advice to navigate this busy flight.

“During this busy times, even if you are a business traveler or someone who often travels when you come here in these busy times, make sure you are patient,” said Nipps.
