The Old Georgetown Road closes large bus fire in Clarendon County

A driving bus opened on the Old Georgetown Road in flames, spread the fire in nearby forests and forced a longer road closure.

Clarendon County, SC-A Feuer destroyed a coach on a street of Clarendon County on Saturday, which led to a reaction to several authorities and ongoing traffic problems.

Clarendon County Fire Rescue said it was called to Old Georgetown Road near the Homebranch Road at around 11 a.m., where the bus was completely involved and also ignited near grass and trees. The fire brigade of Sumter and the South Carolina Forestry Commission also reacted, and from 12 noon the office of Clarendon County's sheriff helped in traffic control.

No injuries were reported. Clarendon County Fire Rescue warned that the Old Georgetown Road was still closed and remains closed while the crews worked at the scene. Drivers who could use this route were asked to find an alternative.
