The police are examining fatal Smoketown shootout

Louisville, Ky. -The U -Bahn police examine a shootout in Smoketown and leaves a person dead.

The police said officials of the fourth division reacted to the 700 block of the South Preston Street shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers said a man was at the scene with a firing wound, but had been declared dead after the attempt to make life -saving efforts.

In her preliminary investigation, LMPD announced that a person who was suspected of being involved in the shootout had occurred in a house in the 900 block by South Preston.

The residence was secured by LMPD, but the SWAT team was called to clarify it.

“We encourage the public to avoid the area if possible that emergency services can work safely,” said an LMPD spokesman in an explanation.
