Update: The police identify the suspect in the double murder of Syracus

Syracuse, NY – The police were looking for a man on Monday in Onondaga County for a man who was suspected of shoting two people to death in Syracus.

The shootout was reported on Monday around 9:35 a.m. in a house in the 100 block of the Roney Road in the district of Syracuse Valley.

According to a press release by Kieran Coffey, a spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department, an adult and a child were found dead in the house. They were not identified immediately.

Coffey described the suspect as a white, 5-foot 6 man with brown hair and a beard.

The police asks someone with information about the shootings to call them under 315-442-5222.

In the neighborhood on Roney Road there was a strong police presence and at least one location in the northern suburbs of the city.

Air 1, the helicopter operated by the Sheriff's Office of the district in Onondaga, was sent to several locations to support the search.

The South Salina Street was closed in Syracus between the Cripped Avenue and Seneca Turnpike.
