The police identify the suspect in the shooting of officers in Middletown

The Middletown police authority identified the man in the center of an officer involved in Middletown on Thursday.

The police claim that Justin Deprrospo had hit an officer with his vehicle and then forced the officials to fire their weapons.

The police say that as officials shot their weapons on him, Deprospo escaped and led the officials to a chase.

Depropo was charged:

  • Accused of wearing a dangerous weapon
  • To deliver property with intention, possession of a controlled substance IV (several counts
  • Conspiracy felony)
  • Attack and battery with a dangerous weapon
  • Leave the scene of the accident after personal injury
  • Ruthless driving
  • Throw articles in Moving Vehicle
  • Hinder the police officer
  • Consciousness resist

The police say that as officials shot their weapons on him, deprospo escaped and led civil servants on a chase.

“The car accelerated that they were watching a car,” said Chelsea Perry from Middletown “It's crazy that we see something like that so often.”

The Middletown police, the state police, the Attorney General of Rhode Island and the drug authority were all involved in the investigation.
