The police in East Lansdowne is looking for suspects in the failed armed robbery and shoots in Smoke Shop on Baltimore Pike

East Lansdowne, Pa. (WPVI) – The police in East Lansdowne is looking for a man who opened fire on a business after a failed robbery.

It happened shortly after midnight in the Smoke Shop in the 700 Block of Baltimore Pike, when the shop closes, says owner Mohamed Kassim.

Nobody was injured, but the suspect remains at large.

The police said the suspect had tried to rob the shop, but the money was refused. Soon afterwards, the video shows how the suspect opens the fire outdoors.

The police said two balls pierced the front window and a door inside.

On Tuesday, the employee, who was there at the time, was still shaken by experience. He said shortly before the shootout, he had denied the man's attempt to rob the business.

A surveillance photo published by the police shows that the man is almost completely covered from head to toe, but they hope that someone in public can help them create identification.

Kassim said his employee recognized the intruder and mentioned that he often visited his dog.

The Smoke Shop employee tells Action News that they were narrowly escaped to be shot and were ultimately intact.

The patrons of a nearby bar are also relieved.

“I came out and the guy was gone. The bulls were out here. They had subsided. We made all shots, I was relieved to know that nobody was hurt,” said a woman.

The bar's owner said Action News that she is not afraid, but hopes that the man will be caught soon.

“If he could do that to you, I am the neighbor, he could probably do it to me too,” said Vera Carney.

Anyone who has further information about the crime or the suspect is asked to call East Lansdowne's police.
