The Portland State football plan in 2025 contains some curiosities

Portland State Vikings will open their football season 2025 during the zero week, play three consecutive street games, make a trip to Hawaii and compete against Montana in the Providence Park.

These are some of the highlights from a schedule that the Vikings published on Thursday.

The season begins on August 23 – the earliest start to the program history – with a home game against Tarleton State in the Hillsboro Stadium. Then three street games in a row – in Byu, North Dakota and Hawaii – come before a goodbye on September 20. After a home game against Northern Arizona to open the Big Sky Conference game and a street game with Eastern Washington, the Vikings will have their second bye on October 11th.

Last season, PSU will play on Weber State at home and then travel to Idaho and Cal Poly before settling against the Sacramento State (in the Hillsboro Stadium), Montana (in the Providence Park) and in the north of Colorado (in Greeley).

Since they play during the zero week and also play in Hawaii, the Vikings follow a 13th game that would be one of the two current bye at home.
