The result of the Unaction: Ignorization of the people led to this that led to this

Encouraged by the election of Donald Trump as US President, right-wing extremist groups worldwide. These voices represent a great threat, not only for democracy that they claim for revere, but also for social cohesion, the minority groups and the natural world. Intolerance and tribalism are their common currency – social poisons that promote the division, drive hatred and ignite violence.

In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell reunited, Germany reunited and the Soviet Union began to disguise. It was a moment of jubilation in Germany and throughout the west. Democratic governments that quickly grew after the Second World War seemed to have reached their last triumph with German association.

In the following years, democracy was accepted by a large part of Eastern Europe, Nelson Mandela was released from prison and apartheid was dismantled in South Africa after more than 40 years. It was a remarkable time – one full of enormous optimism, conviction that the world had finally returned repressive methods and that a real change was possible; That a new era started.

Thirty -five years later, this feeling of hope was good and really deleted; The ideal of democracy is in danger and an suffocating shadow spreads all over the world. The global rules are based on having increased extremism and authoritarianism, and the societies in many western countries are perhaps more shared and polarized than ever.

Extremism and inequality

The appeal of external law is the result of a series of interconnected factors. Inequality is an important ingredient and income inequality, but also unequal access to good quality, education, healthcare and opportunities as well as cultural activities such as concerts, exhibitions, theater, etc.

Until the late 1980s and early 1990s, asset and income inequality had been comparatively low, but the differences had grown significantly by the mid-2000s. In 2016, Oxfam reported that “an outstanding inequality has created a world in which 62 people have as much wealth as the poorest half of the world's population – a number that only fell five years ago of 388”.

But instead of groups of the working class, which combine in the demands for social justice, the main exual, as the French economist Thomas Piketty noted, was the rise of various forms of xenophobic “populism” and the identity -based politics “and continued”.

Inequality has inevitably moved in one direction: it is now even more extreme. Poverty grows in many countries, while the number of billionaires increases from year to year. According to Oxfam, the global billionaire grew by 2 trillion dollars in 2024, three times faster than in the previous year, which corresponds to about 5.7 billion dollars a day. According to the World Bank, the number of people who still live in poverty – around 3.5 billion – has hardly changed since 1990. 'In fact, the number increases. “

For 99.9%, inequality is part of economic instability in which they live, and economic uncertainty is another important factor for the appeal of right -wing extremists.

After the financial accident of 2008 (whose effects are still felt), support for right -wing extremists increased. This is in line with the consequences of previous financial crises. Studies that have been investigating around 100 such events since 1870 showed that “right -wing extremists are the largest beneficiaries of financial companies … After a crisis, the proportion of votes that go to the right -wing parties increases by more than 30 percent.”

Now we come to immigration – more precisely the politicization of immigration. This is perhaps the biggest factor that people drive into the poor of right -wing extremist political parties and figures. It results from a close feeling of individual and national identity and promotes negative attitudes to multiculturalism – in particular, but not exclusively in terms of people from Muslim countries. These anxious attitudes are eagerly exploited and inflamed by ambitious rights with conservative mainstream media and propaganda that are spread through social media.

Immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees and economic migrants have become scapegoats for economic difficulties, unemployment, stagnating wages and the breakdown of public services. Right -wing extremists strengthen these essential social problems and instead of emphasizing the systemic failures (neoliberal politics) and political mismanagement, including the abused effects of globalization, they indicate foreigners.

The guilt and distrust of the “others” towards the diseases of a nation are not only unjustified and perverse, but also enables right -wing extremist protectionism and flag tribe to thrive. Migrants are convicted and accused of not integrating and importing a foreign lifestyle and weakening the culture of the adopted country. Social division and hatred are the intertwined goals of the extreme right and increasingly in panic fair political parties that are desperate according to the voters.

In addition to the attack by foreigners, LGBTQ+ people are increasingly becoming right -wing politicians who drive a conservative agenda. The result is an increase in hate speeches and an “unprecedented increase in violence against LGBTQ+ people in 2024 throughout Europe”. A current report shows that this victimization is a growing problem in Europe and Central Asia in which “governments use anti -LGBTQ+ rhetoric to justify restrictions on freedom of speaking, civil society and fair elections”. The widespread oppression and fascism begins to silence the so-called “minority groups”; Then expand control based on false security and social concerns to include everyone

It's not too late

These are undoubtedly transitional times when we move from a crumbling lifestyle in “new”. While they are undeniably dangerous and full of uncertainties, they also offer enormous opportunities. The choice of how we move forward are ours: unite and thrive or remain divided and endure increasing adversity.

Humanity is confronted with a number of extremely challenging, interconnected crises, whereby the environmental disaster is far the most serious. If the global trend continues to extremism, the brave measures that are necessary to deal with the urgent problems of our time – in particular climate change and ecological collapse – will not be taken, so that these crises can be deteriorated.

For a large extent, it is the failure of advanced forces worldwide to fix systemic mistakes for decades, which has made it possible for the extreme right to gain traction and spread its poison. The economic crash of 2008/09 played a role in the rise of the external right and the narrowing of perspectives within the middle law. Like all of these events, however, the crash offered the opportunity to reinterpret the socio -economic system according to fair and more sustainable lines. Instead, the corrupt bank greed was rewarded with rescue campaigns, while people were punished by savings measures and wage cuts.

For fifty years or longer, the separation between those who are advocated for evolutionary change (think of the Arab spring, the occupy movement or the global environmental movement) and those who are determined to maintain the unjust status quo. Requirements for peace, economic justice, climate protection and more have been consistently ignored. As a result, the gap between these two groups has expanded year after year. The attitudes have darkened and since the governments have become more extreme, oppression was legitimized.

If there had been a more open and creative reaction to the energies of the time, the march to the right, which is currently taking place against the natural order of things – would not have happened, and we would live in a completely different world. Even now, in the eleventh hour, this opportunity still exists; The resistance is anchored, which makes the task more difficult and the need for men and women from Goodwill urgently united than ever: the future of our societies and the planet depend on it.
