The risk of fire increases and begins the week

Josh's Sunday evening forecast

On Monday afternoon, stronger winds develop than another storm scratches in New Mexico. Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour will be possible in a large area of New Mexico. This type of strong wind is probably again on Tuesday. The windy weather will be a very high risk of fire in a large area of New Mexico on both days. So if a running fire develops, it spreads quickly. A bad blanket of snow and growing drought conditions do not help this fire threat. With this storm, however, there will be a little moisture, but it will usually remain in the north of New Mexico with very light rain and light mountain snow. Areas with dust on Monday and Tuesday will also cause areas with a reduced view and poor air quality.

Thanks to a cold front that sweeps through the state, the temperatures will be cooler until the next week. At the end of next week there is potential for another storm that could bring better moisture, but there is still a lot of uncertainty.
