The SAPD officer, who was suspended after “four-day bender”, show records

SAN ANTONIO – A police officer in San Antonio was suspended in January and had to go to a rehabilitation facility after the officials had soaked him up so that, according to the records published by the San Antonio police department, he was “not in hand to report them”.

The SAPD officials were called to the house of the officer Justin Carter after 7 p.m. on July 18, 2024 after 7 p.m.

It is unclear who made the call to the police.

In the records, Carter, who was not service, was listed to body cameras film material, which told a detective that he was on a “four-day bender”. Carter added that someone had taken the alcohol away.

According to the records, SAPD has removed several weapons from Carter's house.

The report said that Carter had violated the department rules by being intoxicated to a level that “made him unable to report to the service”.

Carter was suspended for five days and, according to the records, had to register a rehabilitation program at his own expense.

If he does not start the program within 45 days, the State Carter of the records must withdraw.

In the Records lock, Carter must provide proof within two weeks of the successful completion of the SAPD evidence rehabilitation program. He also has to have a wellness officer checked in through his progress during the program.

If not, the records said he has to step back.

SAPD also said that Carter was ready to random alcohol/drug examinations. If he tests positively or does not complete the screenings, it says in records that it will be canceled.

The records also announced that Carter could be disciplined or terminated.

City markings show that Carter has been a police officer in San Antonio since 2008.
