The Sarasota police transfers the investigation to prosecutor

Sarasota, Fla. (Wwsb)-The Sarasota police completed her investigation after one of her officials had hit an 8-year-old child with a dirt bike in October last year.

The crash took place on October 28 at 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of the 23rd Street and the Maple Avenue.

According to the department officials, the child was on a dirt bike when an official left the place of another call. Then they say that the official hit the child.

The area from 2100 block to the 2400 block of the Maple Avenue was closed for several hours when the investigators collected evidence at the scene.

Body Camera film material recorded the incident.

The officer immediately started life -saving actions and EMS was quickly on site. A lot began to form in the neighborhood, and officers said that witnesses were aggressive and an investigator of the crime scene found that the official was made on site.

The 8-year-old boy was flown in John's Hopkins All Children's Hospital.

ABC7 interviewed the boy's mother, Regina Sanders, after the incident. At that time he showed some signs of movement, but there was no update of his condition.

The department included several witness accounts and handed them over to the public prosecutor for review.
