The shooting process begins today in front of the Circuit Court | News, sports, jobs

Jacob Cronick

Escanaba trial against a man from Escanaba Township, who supposedly shot his ex-father-in-law, begins today.

Jacob Cronick, 29 years old, from 8311 County Road 416 J Road, is charged with the intention of causing much damage less than murder or by strangulation due to a count of crimes and an attack.

The charge of the firearm was added by the Lauren Wickman public prosecutor's office in the last hearing in September.

The indictment results from an incident on January 21, 2024, in which Cronick was involved in his house when five people came to get the property of Cronick's ex-wife Alexandria Parrotta.

Parrotta's father Eric Parrotta was one of the men who came to Cronick's house.

According to the police reports and certificates before the open court, Eric and Cronick had no good conditions, and Cronick made it clear that Eric was not allowed to be on his property.

Cronick asked Eric to leave his property on the day of shooting, which led to an argument between the two. The other men who came with Eric intervened and the men were finally separated.

Cronick then allegedly pulled a 9 -mm -ruger -SRT pistol and prompted the men to withdraw to their vehicles.

According to the police report, Cronick became the attacker and followed Eric with “What seemed focused.”

Eric was shot in the stomach with the ball and left his left side. He was brought to the health system in Marquette by Guardian Flight.

After the incident, Cronick worked fully with the law enforcement authorities. He waited for her in a chair in his front yard and did not oppose the arrest.

He informed the police that they could confiscate his weapon that was unloaded on a table in his house. In addition to the firearm, the police also confiscated a mussel case in the driveway, in which the argument took place. They also confiscated the iPhone of Cronick – which contained a video of the argument before the recordings – and the digital video recording unit (DVR) for cronicks surveillance camera system.

The selection of the jury today begins with the process that follows. The attempt should last until Friday.
