The shootout in Hillsborough reported near the town hall, police station

Hillsborough – The authorities examine a reported shooting incident near the town hall of Hillsborough and the adjacent police station in the Floribunda Avenue.

“We are investigating a shootout affected by the officer in our parking lot,” Hillsborough's police department achieved on social media on Saturday evening. “The suspect remains free.”

A large search operation with the support of the Sheriff office of the San Mateo County takes place, the department said. The police ask the residents to avoid the area.

According to an updated press release from the Hillsborough police, an officer was shot by a suspect who entered the back lot of the station. The unknown suspect immediately opened the fire and beat the officer, who then gave the fire back. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, and it remains unclear whether the return of the officer hit the topic.

The official was brought to the San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to make complete recovery.

The scene remains active, while tactical teams search the area for the suspect.
