The sister in South Florida accused of stolen Fentanyl from the hospital in the intensive care unit – NBC 6 Südflorida

An intensive sister in Südflorida was arrested after she allegedly stolen drugs like Fentanyl from the hospital in which she worked, the authorities said.

Leah Ann Parra, 40, was arrested in Palm Beach County on Tuesday because of the great theft of a controlled substance, the sale or possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug utensils, as prison records showed.

According to a arrest report, Parra was a nurse at the JFK Medical Center in Atlantis.

The examination of Parra began in August last year, after the mother of a patient said that Parra had entered a room in which she claimed that she had checked the medication, but it was found that medication was triggered and another syringe was used to manage an unknown clear liquid in a flower.

The mother reported it to another nurse who inspected the patient's fentanyl bottles and saw puncture holes, which indicates that the medication had been manipulated, according to the report.

Parra was confronted, but first denied taking the medication, but hospital officers asked to search their bags, and found the vials of Lorazepam and Benadryl together with syringes, the report said.

“Parra admitted to the theft and possession of the medication and explained that she wanted to seek help for her addiction and self -report at the Board of Nursing,” the report said.

The pharmacy director of the hospital examined the patient's medication and found that the amounts did not match the levels at which it should have been determined, the report says.

Parra made blood and urine samples available before it was accompanied by the hospital and was suspended until the result of the examination, the report says.

Parra from Palm Beach Gardens was booked to prison and her bond was set at 11,000 US dollars, as recordings showed.
