The Slidell man arrested and accused of having killed the pedestrian early Saturday

Slidell, La. (WVUE)-A Slidell man was arrested in his house early Saturday (March 1st), in connection with an accident in which a pedestrian death was left behind this weekend, the state police of Louisiana said.

The 45-year-old Tyrone Williams was booked in connection with the death of 28-year-old Justin Warren from Clearwater, Florida, with negligent murder, hit-and-run and other traffic violations.

According to the LSP, Warren went western direction along Louisiana Hwy. 433 near the Liberty Oaks Lane in the St. Tammany Parish when he was met on Saturday at 5 a.m. by a Gold 2012 Ford F-1550 pickup at Williams.

The investigators say that Williams drove to La 433 to the west when he hit Warren with his right front bumper and then fled out of the scene. Warren was taken for hospital treatment, but died of his injuries, the police said.

The state police said that on -site evidence and testimonies had helped the investigators to identify Williams as the owner of the truck, which led to his arrest in his house. Williams could be exposed to additional fees if the results of the toxicological testing determine that he drove through alcohol or drug use as he drove.
