The suspect critically injured after he shot man and then shot during the Clayton Co. Swat Standoff-WSB-TV channel 2

Clayton County, Ga. – Both a police officer of Clayton County and a suspect were shot in Jonesboro in Jonesboro on Tuesday evening.

The police answered a report about a person who was shot in the 300 block of the Arrowhead Boulevard in Jonesboro.

Officers found a man who suffered from a gunshot wound at this address.

The victim was taken to the hospital. His condition was not released.

The officials were able to collect information about the suspect and then follow him to a house in the 700 block of the SummerChase Drive in Jonesboro.

The police said the suspect refused to leave this house and the Swat unit of Clayton County replied to the address.

According to the police, the SWAT officials entered the house after the efforts of the negotiators to communicate with the man.

During this operation, the suspects and the Swat officials exchanged shots.

One of the officers was shot into the leg and brought to the Grady Memorial Hospital.

The suspect was also hit by several shots and taken to the hospital.

The official is expected to recover and the suspect being critically wounded.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will carry out an independent examination of the official's shootout.

The police said that against the suspect both the Arrowhead Boulevard and the Summerchase Drive incidents are charged with the arrow head boulevard.

The examination remains active.
