Jermaine Bass was charged with murder and tried to have murder in 2022 after shoting his five -year -old daughter and eight -year -old son. Investigators say that bass's five -year -old daughter died of her injuries. His eight -year -old son was sent to the hospital in his skull with a ball, but he survived.

“The certificate and the evidence are parts of only one person if they are merged,” said the prosecutor.

During the final declarations of the defense, however, Bass's lawyer said that the state's claim is not correct.

“Absolutely wrong,” said Bass' lawyer. “'Just please, please help my child.'”

The jury informed the defense that in this case they cannot read between the lines. She said there is no evidence in the case of the state.
