The top 30 ATP player is now on a shocking seven-match defeat after being the title winner in 2024 and was praised by John Mcenroe

Alejandro Tabilo loses the seventh game in a row when he opens his home Chile

The number 28 of the world 28 Alejandro Tabilo came in the Chile Open this week as number two after he lost in the final last year.

In his last press conference after the game, Tabilo opened the problems with which he had been faced with recently.

“It's a difficult moment, I have the feeling that I played much better in this game, more precisely, I lost it due to details in important places,” he said.

“There are several things that have influenced me outside of the tennis on a personal level.

“It was an important thing and I fought it with the people who came very close to me, I tried to go forward.”

The 27-year-old of Chilen insisted that he was confident that he can turn things around.

“I have to continue working, I'm sure I will turn it around and I'm on the right track,” said Tabilo.

He will undoubtedly hope to rediscover the form in which an American tennis legend was impressed in 2024.

Tabilo enjoyed the best year of his career in 2024 and secured several impressive victories in which he was quickly pushed into the spotlight.

At The Italian Open, the 27-year-old star achieved the best victory of his career when Tabilo Novak Djokovic defeated in straight sets on the way to a Maiden Masters 1000 semi-final.

Tabilo was then selected as a member of the Team World for the Laver Cup when he was the first Chilean player to be released at the event.

He won one of his two games at the 2024 Laver Cup when his team narrowly fell against their European colleagues with 11: 13.

During the tournament, Team World captain John Mcenroe gave his thoughts about Tabilo and admitted that he had surprised him.

“Alejandro Tabilo, he is a kind of guy who has come in recent years,” said Mcenroe.

“But he has a game, I didn't know how good this type was.”
