Muncie – Steve Shondell likes to remember.

The year was 1977. Shondell's legendary career as a high school coach at Muncie Burris was still in its infancy. Last season in the Ballyball team of men in the ball State men under his father Dr. He was still playing Don Shondell. The cardinals prepared for a huge Matchup with Ohio State, a conference conference in the Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA).

The campus summed up with excitement. The Ohio State Match had participated in 4,500 in 1975, then 6,000, in 1976 in the past two years. Dave Shondell, Steve's younger brother and current Purdue -Volleyball trainer, was in the JV team and worked with another player, Jon Wiley to get to get the word about the match for brotherhoods and sisterhoods.
