Thousands of New York cheated by Doordash from tips

For many Americans, the question “would like to leave a tip” is out of control. Suppose you agree that you only tip someone to find out that the person does not receive the additional money. Instead, the company benefits for which you work. For thousands of New Yorkers, it is time for repayment.

If you are one of 85,000 who have worked for Doorash, you can get some of the more than 16 million dollars in the amount of more than $ 16 million after it has been found that the food supply service has been found tips on saving the company used.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, the Attorney General of New York Letisha James announced a settlement of 16.75 million US dollars with the Food Delivery Company Doordash after determining the fact that the company had betrayed workers from their tips.

From May 2017 to September 2019, DOORASH misleaded customers and employees by using tips for covering guaranteed compensation.

As the deliverers are called, they did not receive their guaranteed compensation Plus Tips. There was no additional money. For example:

  • If you guaranteed a guaranteed compensation of $ 15 per hour and you tipped 2 US dollars, Doordash paid this $ 13.
  • If you guaranteed a guaranteed compensation of $ 15 per hour and you tipped 4 US dollars, Doordash paid this $ 11.
  • If you guaranteed a guaranteed compensation of $ 15 per hour and you tipped 6 US dollars, Doordash paid this 9 US dollar.
