Three arrested; Drugs, weapons, ammunition found after St. Joe County's police investigation

Three people were arrested in Mishawaka after weekly examinations.

The St. Joseph County police completed the investigation in a house in the 800 block of the W. Douglas Road in Mishawaka on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

The operation arrested three people, found seven firearms (a stolen), drugs and ammunition in the house.

The police said when they approached the house, the door opened quickly back into the house with a man, Ernesto Santiago, 22.

After a few minutes, the Santiago police asked to leave the house. Five people left the house. Two of them had active arrest warrants.

The following people were arrested:

  • Ernesto Santiago, 22, wanted to crime for theft (4 counts), crimes by car theft and theft. Santiago was also officially burdened with an earlier conviction of criminal offenses due to illegal stretching of a pistol.
  • Darvel Grady, 22, wanted for intimidation. Grady was also officially charged with an earlier conviction of the crime for illegal stretching of a pistol.
  • Jeremid Santiago, 21, formally charged with an earlier conviction of criminal offenses due to illegal wear.

After a search order, the police found weapons drugs and ammunition.

The South Bend Police Department and US marshals helped the operation.
