Tiger's second half lead to a defeat against Bulldogs in the regular season finale

The Auburn Tigers lost their last home game of the season on Sunday afternoon a fight of the second half against the Mississippi State Bulldogs 73-66.

The tigers continued their second half of the season right after half -time, where they could not knock down one of their first five field goals. The Tigers exceeded the Bulldogs in the third quarter of 25-14.

“I had the feeling that they selected a few people and came downhill and then found the open person,” said Johnnie Harris, head coach of Auburn. “So you did a really good job to turn the ball around and move it up, and you have put down some three.”

Auburn had a chance to celebrate a comeback in the last two minutes when Mar'shaun Bostic put down a three to make it a four-point game with 1:18. However, the bulldogs would take the game with free throws that were made on the route.

The Tigers Bank was significantly exceeded in this matchup with the Bulldogs, which it exceeded 21: 7. The Bulldogs were able to benefit mainly in the second half of points from the turnovers at 12 to the Tigers Three. Although the tigers force more sales than the Bulldogs the entire game, with Mississippi State having 22 sales to Auburns 13.

“I think we took care of the ball pretty well, but when we did it when we turned the ball, they could get out and run and look at him easily, and I thought they got a few three of our sales at the beginning of the second half.”

In her last game in the Neville Arena, Deyona Gaston scored a team high 31 points out of the ground. She also played solidly at the defensive end that brought up four steals, while Bostic scored six 6 steals for her career.

“Marhaun came in and she was concentrated and ready to go,” said Harris. “I thought she was really good. She talked to get people to where they had to be, found the misconducts and found the right readings. Deyona always appears and they know that she is only hard. It is a hard matchup. ”

The tigers need to reset to the post -season game in the SEC tournament, where they hope to keep their season alive. You have to learn from it to play a whole 40 minutes if you plan to take a deep run.

“We have to go in and you know that we first talked about punch, have a good start. We have to have a good start, but we also have to have a good goal. We have to keep beating, not just beating first. You have to keep beating. Vibrate on and this is our message to you.

Auburn will play on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. CST, next round of the SEC tournament Florida.
