Tikok's trend “I tried to be the sun” has a deeper meaning

If you have been on Tikkok lately, you have probably tried the trend “I tried to be the sun” or “I tried to be the moon” on your side. You know what I am talking about: a beautiful woman publishes the words “I tried to be the sun, but I am clearly the moon” or “I tried to be the moon, but I'm clearly the sun” with pictures or videos of you with light hair (the sun) and then dark hair (the moon) or vice versa. Usually it is accompanied by the Vibey song “O Sol Ea Lua” by Pequeno Cidadão. At first glance, it looks like just another pretty trend for the transformation of girls, in which Creator has light hair (the sun) against dark hair (the moon) or vice versa to show their aesthetic shift. But for some the trend also taps into something deeper.

In my opinion, the trend is about realizing that you don't have to give in to the pressure to be someone you are not. The way I see it, the “sun” represents someone who always seems – extrovert, socially and full of energy – while the “moon” is for those who are more reflective, calmer and thrive in calmer environments (100% me). When I look at this trend, I see creators and influencers who show their self -discovery trips and share clips with bubbling and energetic clips before they turned to moments that feel more like their true self. The trend has taught me that it is okay, more reserved, more introspective or low -energy instead of constantly trying to be the life of the party.

I imagine that for “sun” people – who may have been said that they are too much or have to weaken it – the trend gives a similar message that it is okay to live their authentic life.

Like many viral moments, the trend “I tried to be the sun” did not come out of nowhere. The idea of comparing personality types with the sun and moon has been on the Internet for years, especially on platforms such as Tumblr and Pinterest, where people often romantize self -discovery and changes in identity.

Of course there are also many people who only use it to share their new hairstyles or even make fun of the trend – and that's great.

At its core, the trend is “I tried to be the sun” for self -acceptance. Regardless of whether you thrive in the spotlight or prefer to watch from the sidelines, there is no right way to exist. Social media often promotes the idea that it is the ideal of being loud, bubbling and sociable, but this trend reminds us that quiet self -confidence and self -observation are just as valuable. Regardless of whether you are in your “sun” or “moon”, the most important thing is to stay true to yourself. After all, you don't have to be the sun to shine.
