Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – A tip from the crime stopper led to the arrest of a man looking for shooting in New Orleans.
The Baton Rouge police authority identified the suspect as Broderick Butler, 25.
On Thursday, March 13, around 6 a.m. after the Baton Rouge police received a search order in a residence in the Third Street.
According to the police, the search order after a shootout was received on March 5, 2025 in the Block of 1900 Magazine in New Orleans.
The investigators of the Baton Rouge police authority worked with detectives from the New Orleans Police Department to identify the suspect.
NOPD detectives secured an arrest warrant for Butler for attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
After the search command was carried out, Butler was arrested without an incident.
The search led to the seizure of:
- Oxycodon/acetamol pills
- A stolen 9 -mm glock 19 equipped with an extended magazine
- a significant amount of cash

Butler was instructed to the East Baton Rouge Parish prison, under charge:
- Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
- Owner of substances of Appendix II
- as a refugee in relation to his outstanding arrest warrant, which was issued by the police department of New Orleans.
