Titans publish Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie after a season

Nashville-Die Tennessee Titans published Chidobe Awuzie on Saturday after signing the experienced cornerback for a three-year contract last spring.

Awuzie was guaranteed 23 million US dollars for the deal, which could have brought it up to 36 million US dollars when the titans spent on big holes in 2024, especially in their secondary level.

According to Spotrac.com, Awuzie received $ 19 million in the signing. Its publication avoids the 3.98 million US dollar, which is guaranteed on the fifth day of the new NFL league year, Sunday.

The 29-year-old Awuzie spent three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before he joined Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator of this team from 2019 to 2023, in his first season as head coach of the titans.

He didn't help much.

Awuzie only started seven games, while during his eighth NFL season he came up with eighth place with his third team. He ended with a catch, four defense, a forced fumbling and 26 duels.

He was injured in the reserve on September 27 and missed nine games before returning to the titans, who went 3-14 and hold the number 1 of the draft next month.

The new general manager Mike Borgonzi and the Titans also published the veteran linacker Harold Landry III on March 7. The longest player in the titan with one Pro Bowl had attributed $ 24.1 million against the upper limit.

Landry then signed the New England Patriots and competed to coach Mike Vrabel, who was hired in January to head the team. He helped win three Super Bowl titles as a linebacker. Vrabel was a trainer from 2018 to 2023.
