Toledo Mud Hens prepare for the opening day with a preview event

The club gave the fans an early foretaste of some of the new menu items and goods that they can expect in the fifth third field.

Toledo, Ohio – The opening day of Toledo Mud Hens is less than a month away, and the team makes fans excited for the big day.

The club organized its “On Deck” event on Tuesday evening and gave the fans a preview of all new concessions and equipment that they can expect in 2025.

“It is a great way to let people know, ready or not, baseball is here,” said General Manager of Mud Hens, Erik Ibsen. “Spring training is quick and we have three and a half weeks until the opening day.”

The event enabled the fans through the hall and tried some of the new menu items in the park. Corey Pleasant, director of the concessions, says that the fans can expect six new concessions on the Fifth Third Field, with innovations such as Cheddar Burgern, fries in Greek style and Cheddar Tater Tot Kabobs.

Pleasant and his team spend months in the low season to develop new ideas, and he says that some people are looking forward to eating more than on baseball.

“We actually have a few people who call us every year just to know what the new foods are,” said Pleasant. “We have many gourmets that the menu is the most important thing that is going on.”

There are also the new goods. The swamp business in the park is open all year round, but the opening day is far the most for sales. Craig Katz, director of merchandise and licensing for the Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye, expected to sell thousands of shirts, jerseys, hats and even new socks on this day.

“This is a fun time for us. We all have our new things on the way. We have now seen a few things in the shop,” said Katz. “You will see an empty room [in the shop] Because we still have a lot of new things on the way. “

Mud Hens's opening day is March 28th and the first field is set for 4:05 p.m. EST. The chickens open their season against the Columbus Clippers.
