Tom Izzo binds another Bob Knight record when Michigan State Big Ten wins – The Daily Hoosier

The state of Michigan has won at least one share of the regular season of 2025 Big Ten for men.

That came from a defeat on Thursday from Michigan to Maryland. The Wolverines are now two games in the Loss column to MSU, and the Spartans only have two games left to play.

With his latest performance, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo connected the Bob Knight and Purdues station “Piggy” Lambert with 11 with 11 in the regular seasonal title in Big Ten.

The 70-year-old Izzo at the beginning of this season contested Knight for most conference victories and now has 358. Iu was able to hold Izzo a few weeks ago with a win in East Lansing, but the MSU has not lost a game since then.

A few years ago, Izzo also won Knight for most victories of a big ten trainer with a single team.

For his part, Izzo was very modest to have his name in the record books with Knight.

“First of all, the type (knight), I think he was a damn a coach and a hell of a man and a friend of all of us,” said Izzo in the Fox program after he had come by Knight.

The 71-67 victory of Indiana in the state of Michigan on February 11th is only the Spartan this season, and one of only three defeats in Big Ten Play.
