Two highly lean criminals, Imamul Hasan alias “Pichchi” Helal and Khandaker Naim Ahmed alias Titon, hid against the deposit after the release.

Although their deposit conditions had to be released in court regularly, they missed this after their release.

The judicial court in Dhaka issued arrest warrants for them on February 25 after they had not appeared as planned.

The court also headed the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to arrest it immediately.

The DMP headquarters then instructed the detective department (DB) to carry out the arrest warrants and to inform various police offices.

The additional commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB), Rezaul Karim Mallick, said: “There will be no place for criminals in this country. Top criminal that will be released against deposit will soon be brought according to the law.”

However, he did not indicate how the police would bring them back if they fled abroad.

Sources in the law enforcement authorities suspect that several top criminals published against the deposit have already left the country, including Helal and Titon.

Since the case of the government of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024, at least six top criminals have been released against the deposit, most of which had been in prison for over a decade.

Among them are Abbas Ali from Mircur, Sheikh Mohammad Aslam alias Sweden Aslam from Tejgaon, Sanjidul Islam alias Emon von Hazaribagh, Khurshed Alam alias Rasu alias Freedom Rasu, together with Helal and Titon.

The police records show that on September 22, a case against Helal was submitted with the Mohammadpur police station because he had murdered two young people in Rayerbazar in Rayerbazar two days earlier.

According to the police, the murders resulted from a lawn war between competing groups who are looking for control over the area after the political transition. Other recently published criminals were also accused of extortion and land pools.

Sources of intelligence show that before the government falls, special branches of the law enforcement agencies actively monitor large criminals, including their legal proceedings and deposit inquiries.

However, the instability after the translation weakened law enforcement and made it possible for many top criminals to secure the deposit with little resistance.

The lack of monitoring after your release enabled you to avoid the authorities.

When asked about the surveillance of these criminals from the police, DMP Commissioner Sajjad Ali said: “The police are vigilant against top criminals. They were released by the court against the deposit. DMP will apply for the cancellation of their deposit to maintain law.”

Touhidul Haque, Associate Professor at the Institute for Social Welfare and Research at Dhaka University, emphasized the need for strict surveillance.

“Without proper surveillance, the situation could get out of control under the current weak police system. These criminals must be brought before the law before the law,” he said.
