Tornado warning for parts of northwest Georgia-WSB-TV Channel 2 published

Atlanta – A Tornado warning was exhibited in the counties in Georgia and Calhoun, Clay and Talladega Counties in Alabama for parts of Georgia and Alabama in the counties Fannin and Gilmer until 9:30 p.m.

A Tornado clock applies to most of the areas of Metro Atlanta and in Northern Georgia until 4 a.m.

Storm team 2 Tracks serious storms that are expected overnight on Saturday and early Sunday morning and early Sunday morning.

It is expected that storms are moving to the outermost northwest of Georgia at around 8 p.m. and going to Metro Atlanta between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Storm team 2 chief meteorologist Brad Nitz says that several strong tornados are possible in the early morning hours of Sunday.

When thunderstorms, harmful wind gusts can reach 70 miles per hour or more, and a large hail with a diameter of one to two inches is possible.

The storms are expected to pull out of the area at dawn.

Much of Northern Georgia is now under wind counseling that is on Sunday until 5 a.m.

Wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour are possible on Saturday afternoon, with higher gusts possible in higher altitudes.

This could mean that some trees and power lines could start before the strongest storms move into the area overnight.

  • Mobile homes and automobiles are not safe, find accommodation.
  • Don't try to escape a tornado when you are on the go.
