Tornado Watch for Hampton Roads exhibited

A tornado watch applies to Hampton -Straßen and the surrounding area.

The cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg are included in the guard area as well as Emporia and Franklin. The counties under the Tornado Watch are Greensville, Isle of Wight, James City, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and York.

A “clock” means that tornados are possible and the public should be prepared. This differs from a “warning”, which means that a tornado has been seen visually or on the weather radar and you should take measures immediately to protect your safety.

The Tornado clock is in force until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hampton Roads is under a wind consultant until 6 p.m.
