Tornado Watch for SW GA., Western Big Bend published

TALLAHASSE, Florida (WTXL) – For parts of our area, a Tornado watch was exhibited in front of a series of gusty rain and thunderstorms to cross most local counties on Wednesday morning.

The Tornado Watch includes most of the counties in the southwest of Georgia near the Flint River and the counties of the Western Big Bend – including Leon, Wakulla and Gadsden – and runs at 7:00 a.m.

Although the primary risk of rain and storms from strong straight winds and general southern gusts of wind will come, some storms that move through the area during this time have a short tornado.

Please have several options for receiving warnings for warnings while the storms are all moving.

Scattered power outages are also possible with the gusty winds. So make sure that all electronic devices are charged.
